She's gone

The title of her post today was The End.

And with that, my bloggery role model posted her last post. Oh Decorno, the blogosphere won't be the same without you but I understand and can almost relate to your wanting to call it a day.

Decorno picked up one of my posts a year-and-a-half ago and it made me --my traffic doubled overnight. Decorno enlightened, mocked, rejoiced and above all never took design too seriously. So now where will I go to find a profanity-laden, hilarious take on the world of design?

Hey Modern Sauce, a niche just opened up for you.

  1. I drank an extra big mimosa this morning for Decorno. She really was an inspiration for me to begin blogging! I can't guarantee her type of influence at ModernSauce but I can guarantee profanity. Lots of it.

Thanks for even putting me in the same post as Decorno! She will be missed.

  2. If Raina Cox, one of my other bloggery idols, and Decorno could have a love child, you'd be it.

Leigh: Really? That's the best compliment I've had in ages. Thank you!

  6. I almost never swear when I write (my Dad reads my blog) but I don't have any commerce (pounding chest) I'm keepin' it real! (...riiiiight).
Since I just started (and I'm already thinking about hanging it up), I look to you Paul for my inspiration.

  7. Fuck no you didn't go too far. Heee! I think that's the second time in two-and-a-half years that I've written the word fuck on this site. Plenty of commenter have though. My goals for this blog are different than they are for some people. I use it as a springboard to other opportunities and that's why I keep it commerce-friendly. If I were about self-expression only, my tone would be a lot different. So thanks for the compliment Bob. I hope you keep at it. I've been saying all along that the blogosphere needs to hear your voice.

  8. Wow! I'm really honored that it 2 1/2 years you've only said the F word once and I got you to say it twice in one comment! I do tend to draw out the best in people....

  9. as a quick follow up, my wife just pointed out that I didn't even fake curse properly. I have an * in mother but I didn't take any other letters out and in the other word, I have a ** when I only took out 1 letter.

I guess I'm just not cutting edge enough to cuss properly.

  10. I hadn't noticed but now it's all I see. I'm leaping to harsh judgments about your intelligence and you character now and it's all thanks to your wife. Hah! You're welcome to come back and fake curse awkwardly any time you'd like Bob.
