Who's old enough...

To remember this?

  1. Remember it? We live it!

My parents still have a bathroom that is Harvest Gold tile floor and chest high on the walls, heavy felt wallpaper and ornate light fixtures.

Some days I don't like it... but it sure does look good with RED accents.

  5. of course. harvest gold and avocado green were the defining kitchen and bath colors of my youth, and something i will NEVER be nostalgic for.

  6. Mine too. The only people who are nostalgic for that shite are the ones too young to remember it from its first go round.

  7. Old enough?! Who's old? I like to think it's one of the many phases I went through that can be described thusly: 1. Oh something new; 2. Oh looks good on; 3. Oh ho hum; 4. Oh I'm bored --Next? 5. Oh that ol' thing; 6. Oh my --ugh it's back again? Please say it i'nt so!

I find that I'm rarely nostalgic for trends that were popular during my lifetime --with a few exceptions-- and this is not one of them.

  9. The only positive thing I can say about the 70s is that I was at least too young to actually be responsible for choosing my own clothes during that time, so I can't be to blame for all that horrible polyester.

  11. You know Nim, so many of us of a certain age were so scarred by that wretched double knit, that polyester had to be rebranded as microfiber to make a come back.

Brenda: I don't think so. One of these days I write a post about that very thing. I think stainless steel's with us for keeps.
