But this is different. This is my great-niece Pauline this morning. What a doll! This whole thing mystifies me. It feels like it was just a couple of years ago that her mother was that size.
My father and uncle always tell me they remember when I was born. I never understood what they meant until I had a niece and now a daughter. Then I got it. She is a cutie!
I swear, I never thought there's be another child who could bring out in me what her mother did, but my oh my does this baby do just that. The rest of my nieces get all bent out of shape when I say things like that for some reason...
I always run this photo of her mother as a babe on October 22nd. October 22nd was my Gram Stewart's birthday, and I love this shot of her with my niece Sarah: http://www.kitchenandresidentialdesign.com/2009/10/happy-birthday-gram.html
I know I keep prattling on about this stuff, but those two photos really sum up the march of time for me. Who was once a baby now has a baby and she who once presided over all of it is now gone. I wonder if I would have made better decisions when I was younger had I known how quickly time passes.
Heh... funny you should mention this; not even five minues ago I put up a pic of my "baby girl" (who turned 6 today) taken when she was 18 months old. But you see how irresistible it is; your great-niece is just adorable!!!
Do what? Show pics of cute babies? So what, she's a doll!
