Is it possible to fall in love with a faucet?

If my feelings about the Virage series of fixtures from Brizo are any indication, then yes it is possible to fall in love with a faucet.

Judd Lord, the director of industrial design at Brizo and sometimes guest poster, reports that the Virage was inspired by the wrought iron grillwork he and his design team saw all over Europe during one of their inspiration trips. I see it pretty clearly in the lines of these fixtures.

Each of these fixtures is hand rubbed and polished to ensure the purity of their lines. That kind of commitment to quality and style shines through clearly. Bravo to Judd and the whole design team at Brizo, you guys do amazing work.

The Virage is available in five finishes: Polished Chrome, Venetian Bronze®, Brilliance® Brushed Nickel, Brilliance® Polished Nickel and Brilliance® Brushed Bronze. The style of the Virage collection extends to sconces, towel bars, mirrors, towel rings, robe hooks and bidet fixtures as well. It's absolutely beautiful stuff. You can see the whole Virage collection and the rest of Brizo's offerings on their website. Poke around in there some time.

  1. YES. It IS possible. I'm in love with the Virage collection too. It's smooth and sleek and sexy, and those curves.... can I say sexy again?!

  2. I absolutely love this faucet so I can relate to your crush! We have this displayed in the showroom in several places and customers have the same strong reaction... they especially love the matching sconces.

  3. I am a huge fan of her designs. At DPHA I had a chance to see proto types of some of her other work... Very impressive. Her Belo is in the picture on that Blanco blog I participated in... It looks fabulous in person with that Arcon curved bowl.

  4. Paul, yes to the faucet love! and you are too kind..! You might already know this but Virage was my personal obsession. I hope that essence is translated in the form... It was love at first sketch, first render... from the beginning!! Tell me I'm not crazy! But tell me I'm not alone :) I wish I had time to explain but.. for now, I just can't wait to see my baby integrated into the most beautiful bathrooms you can dream of.. Dream away dream away....!

  5. Well Emilie I can tell you first hand that our customers are just as in love with your faucet as you are! It is really breathtaking. It's exciting to have such stunning designs to sell clients and make their bathrooms something really special. :)

  6. Emilie: I would have credited you for this one exclusively but I don't know if that's public information. Although now I suppose it is. Hah! Seriously though, brava for this. To use that tired but true phrase, it's a game changer. Cheryl Kees-Clendenon (she writes Details and Design http://www.kitchendetailsanddesign.com/) has a Virage bathroom in the works right now.

Michelle: Don't you just love how she appears at the mention of her name?

  7. Yeah... that's funny :)!

Emilie if you are ever in Buffalo Grove you must stop by and see your beautiful Virage on our displays. We are quite proud of them.

  8. Paul, I don't know why, but the moment I saw your tweet, I had a feeling this was the one you were talking about.

  10. Of course. I built my last (2002) kitchen around a faucet I bought 6 months before we ordered the cabinets - and I nearly prised it off the countertop to take with me when we moved...

  11. I can relate. I have a Brizo Venuto kitchen faucet that needs a new kitchen to go with it now!

  12. Michelle! Tell me you'll be at KBIS!! I'm sure I'll be wandering around the Brizo booth as always :) i wanted to go to DPHA but there are so many fantastic things happening that i can't possibly go do everything, as much as i really really want to :) and i'm so glad you like my work, we creative types can sometimes survive off the knowledge that our designs are held in high esteem.. it's the case for me at least ....and you must send me a link to this Belo picture you're mentioned!!

Paul: yes I'm guilty of following your blog constantly now, someone sent me the link a few months ago because they saw your Virage post and I've been hooked!! But i do want to say that it takes a whole highly talented team to make the magic happen with a massive line like this. I'm very happy to be a part of it all! Did you ever see the Brizo video they made about 2 years ago? It profiled several of the designers and was a fun insight into the whole process, it was playing at KBIS & maybe some showrooms i think last year or the year before.

  13. Jai played that video last weekend in New York. You win the award for the clearest skin in the office. Great video but those close ups are really close!
