Oh Leonardo, did you influence this table?

I was scrolling through Trendir yesterday. It's the first place I turn when I want to read the uncritical repetition of the furniture industry's press releases. I swear, these people couldn't register an opinion of their lives depended on it. Anyhow, I found this table.

I have two things to day. The first is "ouch."

The second is "Leonardo, is that you?"

In case you're wondering, that's the Abachus table by Extremis.

  1. I love that the guy in the white patterned shirt is like "Naw, I'm good. You guys can have the seats/bicycle handle bars."

  2. Well a table like that's a great way to keep people from lingering too long at a party.

  3. All I can think of is the bruise I'd have on my hip from those bars sticking out. I have enough problem with my coffee table biting my shins.

  4. Downhill skiing anyone? The seats remind me of a T-Bar Lift.

  5. Ugh ugh ugh. Brenda, that's exactly what that "seat" looks like, a T-bar.

  6. I'm so glad someone else noticed Trendir's lack of editorialism ... or pulse. I love the stuff they show, but for crying out loud, what did you think???

Agree totally on the table. Juts because you can, doesn't mean you should ...

  7. It drives me crazy. Some day I'll regale everybody with some tales of my interactions with their editorial staff. Long story short: they were mean to me.

That table's an absurdity, I suspect that it's a furniture designer's inside joke.

  8. I think the experience of sitting at that table would be best on your patio in Az or some other 110 degree climate... that way you could get a nice bruise and a burn!

  9. Cool! A branding iron for a seat, I never thought about that.

  10. Maybe if you carved "Paul was here" into the seat the branding might be a more interesting tale! (or should I say tail)
