Happy Hanukkah!

This is a third Century Roman mosaic of a Menorah. You guys have been around for a while.

I'd like to extend my warm holiday greetings to all of my favorite members of the tribe. Celebrate your history, celebrate your culture, celebrate your families and celebrate the people you love. Chag Sameach!

  1. Thank you, my Darling!

Yup, we've been around about 6000 years give or take a century.

I'm off to indulge in fried foods, donuts, and chocolate. Why the Christians decided to break away is beyond me. ;)

  2. Wait a minute, don't you people start this stuff a half an hour after sunset?

    Eat some kugel for me.

  3. Thanks, Paul!
Yep, we did it up right with some donuts at my house. The latkes will have to wait. Prep is a bear. If it were not for those Hellenistic Greeks and Judah the Macabee defeating them, we wouldn't have a reason to celebrate! Chag Sameach!

  4. One question: if they'd run out of oil, how did they make donuts? Hah! I'm glad to hear your holiday got off to a good start. Enjoy the week!
