Ready or not Kentucky, here I come

I am on my way to Louisville, Kentucky this morning. Louisville is the headquarters of GE Monogram appliances and they asked me to be their guest for the next three days. So while I'm in Louisville I'll be experiencing the GE Monogram Experience in the GE Monogram Experience Center.

So over the next couple of days, I'll be live-blogging the happenings in Louisville and I'll also be simulcasting (simul-blogging?) on Twitter. You can follow me there @saintpetepaul.

I'll check in later, and in the mean time have a great day.

  1. West By God Virginia gets a similar bad rap. Appalachia's beautiful! I'm looking forward to seeing the much ballyhoo-d bluegrass surrounding Louisville.

  2. Try not to be seduced by all that stainless steel. It's sooooo addictive.

  3. I agree about the stainless. And in some kind of a come on to you Nancie, this hotel has a 1980s stretch limo parked in front of it and the limo's covered in red glass mosaic.

  4. How come I never get invited to cool places?? ;-)

Let me know if you come across any well-priced natural gas cooktops with 4 burners and a grill, please :-)

  5. Keep blogging Kelly and they'll find you, believe me. I'll keep my eyes peeled for a deal on a cooktop for you!

  6. Thanks Paul!! If we're ever going to replace our current cooktop, now is the time!!

Hubby just ordered the sink tonight -- after much debating and waffling, I decide to go with the 18-1/2" x 31-9/16" single-bowl Kindred granite sink in Havana (brown). Using a friend's one big bowl/one small bowl sink on the weekend sealed it for me -- the little sink just isn't very useful.

Sounds like you're having a great time in Louisville :-)

  7. Hurray! I'm glad to hear that you listened to me. Let this be a lesson that you should never question anything that comes out of my mouth. Hah!

  8. Heheheheh!!! OK, I'll tell hubby that :-D

So... what cooktop should we buy?? :-D

I could also use a copper toaster, a copper kettle, and pendant lighting :-)

  11. Well, having just spent the last two days cooking on an induction from GE Monogram, I have to say that I was impressed with how well the monogram performed.

  12. Paul,
I'm so glad you enjoyed your time at Monogram, and I appreciate the kind words. I came away with the same positive impressions you did; that's why I wanted to share the experience with an opinion shaper like yourself!
    Best,
    Jamie

  13. Thank you for nominating me in the first place Jamie. What a facility! Aside from the appliance training, I picked up all kinds of tips and tricks from the GE chefs. That trip's destined to be the gift that keeps on giving.
