Boy it's nice to be back in Toronto

I am in Toronto and just back from the Interior Design Show's opening night gala. I have a couple of things to say. First, it's really great to be back in Toronto. I visited here a bunch of times over the years and I cannot get over how much it's changed over the last 30 years. That's all change for the better. Toronto's more a world city than ever and it's incredible to see this many people from this many diverse backgrounds work together to make a cohesive place.

Second, I can't thank Blanco enough for showing me yet another amazing place, another amazing trade show and another amazing operation center.

And third, I have been coming to Canada since I was about six and I never had poutine until tonight. My life will never be the same.

  1. Glad to have you back on this side of the pond! The Canadian poutine reminds me a lot of a Swedish kabob. Stay warm and I hope you packed your Canadian tuxedo;)

  2. Oh no, now you've got me craving poutine! I live in Victoria, Canada, and we don't have poutine here.

It's been 10 years since I was last in Toronto. It has some fabulous design stores - at least half of my furniture is from Toronto.

  3. Are those cheese curds?? I can't even buy cheese curds at my Kroger store, but I am trying. Facebook gets a grassroots thing going, right?

  4. I like French fries, I like cheese curds and I like gravy, so I assume I'd like them as a conglomeration as well.

  7. One of the highlights of the show for me was meeting you :-) So great to FINALLY talk to you in real life! Thanks so much for the introductions to Sarah, Veverly, and Mark, and for all your blogging tips :-) You inspired Amy so much, she was putting your advice to use right there at the show!

If you're ever in Ottawa, I'll introduce you to Beavertails :-) Poutine is good, but Beavertails are better!

  8. I do hope the Torontonians were nice to you. :)
As far as the Poutine goes, you have to visit the Province of Quebec; specifically Montreal to reeeeeallllllly appreciate it.

  9. Kelly; Thanks, meeting up with you on Friday was a real highlight of my Toronto trip.

Brenda: Your neighbor Kelly and I had a great conversation about you and yes, the Torontonians treated me well. It was great to be back in Canada. FYI:m The Intercontinental has one of the best hotel beds I've ever slept in.
