If you would not be forgotten, as soon as you are dead and rotten,
either write things worth reading, or do things worth the writing
(Benjamin Franklin, Poor Richard's Almanac)
I have an affinity for good ol' Ben, maybe because I used to work at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. This quote is hanging on the bulletin board in my office.
You worked at the Franklin Institute? Cool! That museum lit a fire in me as a kid that's never gone out. The Franklin Institute, The Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Philly Zoo set me on a path to being a lifetime learner and I think that's the whole point of those places. My fondness for Philly stems from the Franklin influences that you can still feel all over that great city.
