Meet Miss Susan

My neighbors are off on some new adventure and I am left with their cat, Susan.

I've never bee a cat person but this creature somehow exceeds my notions of what a cat is. Anything that hunts down and kills palmetto bugs is OK in my book. Even though she sleeps for most of the day she's a pretty cool addition to life around here.

I doubt that I'll ever get a cat, but having Susan around is pretty enjoyable.

  1. Every cat exceeds a non-cat person's notions of what a cat is. It's what they do. Will send the Cat Person Secret Handshake Instructions out to you right away.

  2. Cats are pretty cool. We have one named Snickers who crawls up with me on Sunday nights and watches Mad Men with me. She also chases and eats spiders, so that cool too.

  4. Nancie: Send me those instructions.

Rufus: I'm getting used to her but she has yet to curl up with me on Sunday nights.

Joe: I'm glad she's here but I'm equally glad that she'll be going home next Monday.

  5. I was once a dog person, until I was chosen to be the "mom" to 5 stray kittens. I have to say it's been one of the best things to ever happen to me. My husband and I just adore watching them, and all the mischief they find.

  6. I always considered myself a dog person, but since we got Loki 2 1/2 years ago, I think that I'm a convert. He's less of a pet and more of a really great roommate. His "chore" is spider hunting, which he does exceedingly well and he's never needy or annoying. I'd enjoy if he could swiffer the cat hair off the floors himself.. but I can't complain too much about that.

  7. I have always been an animal person but I have always preferred dogs over cats. But as I grew older I think I have come to prefer cats over dogs because between the two cats do much better in looking after themselves. Also, you do not have to worry about small spaces with cats. Isn't Susan just regal-looking?
