My favorite party I did with my kids was the beach party in Pittsburgh in March. Crank up the thermostat lay out towels, encourage water play, etc. The fresh margaritas (for adults) helped the time go quickly. The space themed party was a lot of fun, too. Easy to decorate and be crafty with Styrofoam balls.
One word of caution though. Be sure you know your guests before doing too much social media posting. If you invite the entire kindergarten class there may be issues of divorce, custody or parents who just don't want their kids on a public page. Remember, you technically need parental permission to use/post photos of SEK (someone else's kid, a minor). Most parents probably won't care, but it's good to ask first.
