That has to be one of the best versions of one of my favorite songs I've ever seen and heard. Edith would be proud.
They do more than French standards though.
And if that weren't enough, they can rock and or roll with the best of them.
Check out Grandma getting in on this one. Fantastic!
Wow these two are talented. They are Pomplamoose and consist of Nataly Dawn and Jack Conte. Check them out and show them some love.
What a find! Thank you Paul. Love them.
ReplyDeleteThe grandmother's star turn in September has had me laughing since last night.
ReplyDeleteI love this! Do you listen to Blossom Dearie? She's one of my very favorites. If you like these two, she might strike your fancy as well.
ReplyDeleteHuzzah for Blossom Dearie, she's an old favorite.
ReplyDeleteI found these a couple of months ago on YouTube and killed a couple of hours listening and watching. Great musicians.
ReplyDeleteI found them on a lark last night. I had no idea they existed but I'm sure glad I know about them now.
ReplyDeleteLoved them! The guy is really cute & had a cool grandma who has serious moves. I like the way Nataly spells her name. Plus, September is one of my favorite songs!
ReplyDeleteI think they're both adorable. La Vie en Rose was the first of their videos I saw and I could have sworn they were French based on that video. Finding the rest of the oeuvre on YouTube was a real score.
ReplyDeleteThis was FANTASTIC! I watched it FOUR times in a row. What a good time was had by all. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! franki
ReplyDeleteFranki as in Franki Durbin? I'm glad you enjoyed these videos. Follow them on YouTube, they have a bunch of their work there. Their Christmas song is outstanding.
ReplyDeleteYou know.. while this is a style that's completely not my regular genre of music whatsoever.. I have to say that while listening to that first piece I had tears in my eyes because it was so damn beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it though? Who knew that a toy piano and child's xylophone could enhance already beautiful music?
ReplyDeleteCool. Shared with my daughter. We both found it really fresh and entertaining.
ReplyDeleteMelissa --excellent! You daughter can really sing. How long has she been studying voice?
ReplyDeleteOnly 1 CD is on iTunes. I guess I'll have to track down the rest somewhere else.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know they had a CD at all. Wow. I'm going to go track it down.
ReplyDeleteA very talented duo!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIs Jack not French? (Conté) Having a French heritage myself, I could have sworn I detected 'a French connection' in his performance(S).
-Brenda-
He could well be Brenda, but they seem to be San Francisco born and bred.
ReplyDeleteNow....THAT surprises me! -Brenda-
