Where we have seen something similar happening is in our new "town squares", shopping centres. No freedom of assembly there, nor can you go there to (say) hand out leaflets without permission.
Looks like your governor's popularity is going to go down further!Chookiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07230973711859964063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2143843667296816868.post-86547294915458427882011-07-21T20:17:02.159-04:002011-07-21T20:17:02.159-04:00is there no decency left?is there no decency left?Paul Anaterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05777487147630173644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2143843667296816868.post-2886945325167629282011-07-21T19:11:59.568-04:002011-07-21T19:11:59.568-04:00So timely. I don't know that I've ever seen a Democratic politician engage in something like this either but given the opportunity, I don't think too many of them would balk. No politician of any stripe likes to be reminded that there's an opposition but that's too bad. It's the very nature of our system.

With that said, engaging in public business on private property is a bad precedent and it doesn't bode well for our future.Paul Anaterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05777487147630173644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2143843667296816868.post-23721782329064073442011-07-18T10:16:28.336-04:002011-07-18T10:16:28.336-04:00I really wish I had the rest of the morning availa...I really wish I had the rest of the morning available to write something lengthy in support of this blog, Paul. I hate to get into the Democrat versus Republican thing, but I honestly do not believe I have ever seen a Democrat this heavy-handed. In any case, keep raising hell on this, my friend. This nonsense just has to stop.Josephhttp://www.cft411.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2143843667296816868.post-54811238022550829732011-07-17T15:07:49.486-04:002011-07-17T15:07:49.486-04:00Rights are lost by people who give them up freely ...Rights are lost by people who give them up freely a little at a time. People need to be made aware of this encroachment on freedom. I lived in an association once and moved out after I had a rude awaking. The trees outside my balcony were chopped. When I asked why at the next association meeting, I was told "because they had 20 years growth on them" The trees where why I bought the place.NancyUhttp://www.memory-foam-maniac.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2143843667296816868.post-62549784454028631192011-07-17T11:07:08.614-04:002011-07-17T11:07:08.614-04:00Landscaping and house paint restrictions are bad e...Landscaping and house paint restrictions are bad enough, but having to waive some of my fundamental First Amendment rights to live some where is a pretty steep price to pay.Paul Anaterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05777487147630173644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2143843667296816868.post-40933153030886527202011-07-17T08:01:35.004-04:002011-07-17T08:01:35.004-04:00Once again, you discuss something I never thought ...Once again, you discuss something I never thought of. The whole idea of a planned community makes me shudder. All those stupid rules about what kind of mulch you can use and the banning of clotheslines are something I just wouldn't put up with. I'm not about to start doing things like hosting open-air orgies, but I'm doing what I want on the property I paid for and nobody's going to tell me I can't. Fortunately we found a great house in an old neighborhood where we can even have 3 chickens if we want! And we're almost downtown!Melodyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05124636214096825169noreply@blogger.com
