One of these days I whip out my Canadian childhood photos. My brothers and their families sill go up to the old homestead but I haven't been there in years. I love the shot of the two kids running down the beach and into the water. That&#39;s totally how I feel when I&#39;m near water -- I just want to jump right in!!<br /><br />I agree, your friend in the hammock is definitely a sign!! :-)<br /><br />Thanks for sharing your childhood summer memories on my summer dreamin&#39; post :-) We have a family cottage on a small lake just across the border in Quebec. My parents &amp; grandparents bought the lot in the &#39;50s, cleared it, and then a little pre-fab house went up. When I came along, my dad &amp; grandpa put on an addition with a living room and bedroom.<br /><br />It&#39;s small and not fancy and I sleep on a futon in the living room, but I love it there :-) I go to the cottage every weekend from June to September.<br /><br />We have a plan in the works to tear down the cottage and build a new one. There&#39;s just so much work that needs to be done to it that in the long run, it&#39;ll probably be cheaper and easier to start fresh.
