New patterns in stone from New Ravenna

The amazing new patterns from New Ravenna Mosaics I saw at Coverings a couple of months ago have been photographed officially and they are ready to go. New Ravenna works in natural stone and in art glass and what follow are some of my favorites from their new offerings in stone.

Exmore, VA-based New Ravenna Mosaic and Stone designs and manufactures some of the most beautiful mosaics available. They work with both catalog and custom orders, and as these new patterns in stone show, they are ready to make your project as unique and beautiful as it's possible to be.

  1. I had to look up where Exmore was because I was so fascinated by those images...they are on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, a part of the state that some people assume is part of Maryland.

    Gorgeous.
    Want.
    Badly.

  2. Sara Baldwin is the owner/ founder/ muse of New Ravenna and her vision that guides the whole operation. She's also a friend and an amazing woman. I've been swooning over her mosaics for years, but her tree series breaks new ground. I told her that the willow branches are a haiku and really, they are. You cannot imagine how exquisite these mosaics are in person.

  3. You know the Moorish design of #4 is whispering sweet nothings into my ear.

  4. Raina that's just scratching the surface. I'm running some of their new work in art glass tomorrow and those North African patters really spring to life in glass, let me tell you. In the meantime, poke through New Ravenna's "field patterns" on their website. You'll swoon.

  5. Oh, I already have, Paul. I'm sure The Pea won't mind my raiding her college savings for a kitchen backsplash - "Maharajah" to be exact.

  6. While by no means cheap, New Ravenna's patterns aren't as expensive as you'd think.

  7. We have worked with their mosaics a few times and they were never as expensive as I expected. These new designs are absolutely stunning.

  8. See Raina? Steph just said the same thing I did. You can get your back splash and the Pea can still go to college. Which patterns did you work with Steph? Something standard or something custom?

  9. Hey there everybody--Paul, you are a GOD, and Raina, "majarajah" (and its new partner "raj")happens to be more affordable than many of our patterns. What colors would you like to see it in?

  10. Came back to show the picture to the boyfriend. I told him something from New Ravenna will be in our house...the house we don't own and probably won't for quite some time. Thanks for the heads up, Paul. The fact that they are in Virginia is a huge bonus. :)

  13. Paul, you silly goose. I live in VA! The Eastern Shore, where they are located, is a bit of a hike for me, though. :)
